Scripture to Live By:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:26,27
Recipe Post:
12 - 18 plastic snap-apart eggs.
1 package of miniature marshmallows
3 Tablespoons of Margarine or butter
6 cups of Crispy Rice
Wash plastic eggs, rinse and dry thoroughly.
Spray both halves with cooking spray.
Put marshmallows in a microwavable dish and add 3 Tablespoons of butter or margarine.
Cook in microwave oven for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave oven and stir and then put back in microwave oven and cook for another minute. Remove from microwave oven. Add food coloring to the mixture, for the color of eggs you want.
Mix well and pour over the 6 cups of Crispy Rice. Mix until coated well.
Spay hands with cooking spray or with margarine.
Fill each half of the egg with the Rice Crispy mixture. Then push the center out to the edges of egg to form a hole in the rice crispy egg so you will have room to put the M & Ms in. I put 5 peanut butter M&M's in the center of each egg.
Then I put the halves together and closed the egg. I set them aside until they had cooled completely.
Open the egg and remove the rice crispy egg.
Decorate the outside of the egg. I used pastel sprinkles on these.
(Put them on when you take the egg out of the plastic egg so they will adhere to the egg.)
You can put them on a plate or in a basket to serve.
Or decorate a table with them..
I decorated some of them with frosting and flowers.
When you open them to eat them your have a nice surprise inside.
I put Peanut Butter M & M's inside mine. You could use jelly beans or any small candy.
These are simple to make and something you could make with your children. You can make as many colors of eggs as you would like just by adding different food colors to the marshmallow mixture.
I really like Rice Crispy treats. and that is what these are, with a M & M surprise inside.
I took these to Jr Church on Sunday, as a snack for the children. They liked them and they wanted more. I sent some home with them. I think your children will like them, as well.
Hope you will try them this Easter season.
Blessings,
