Broccoli Salad

Scripture to Live By:
acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity;I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you  may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
Psalms 32:5,7,8

Recipe Post:
This is the season for salads.  My family enjoys salads especially in the hot weather.
I found this recipe in a cook book from our former church.  It is very tasty and refreshing.  It is another way to get those vegetable into our diet.  Broccoli is low in calories and high in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A and rich in minerals.   With all these nutrients in it, broccoli is a great vegetable and eating it raw you don't loose any of the value.

Here is what you will need to make this tasty salad.

2 bunches of broccoli
1 pound of bacon (fried or baked)
1 cup of raisins
1 medium red onion (optional)
½ cup of almonds sliced or honey roasted sun flower seeds
1 cup of Miracle Whip dressing
2 Tablespoons of white wine vinegar
4 Tablespoons of honey or sugar

Instructions:Wash broccoli and cut into bite size or smaller, pieces.  Set aside.

Fry or bake bacon and place on paper towel to drain excess fat.  Crumble and put in bowl.

Measure out raisins and chop almonds or honey  roasted sunflower seeds.
Mix bacon, nuts and raisins in with your broccoli.

Mix  honey, Miracle Whip and White Wine Vinegar together and pour over broccoli mixture.

Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.

You can make this up the night before you are planning to serve,
this helps to blend and enhance the flavors.

Serve with Red Onion rings.  (optional)
This salad is so tasty and refreshing yet healthy.  Hope you will try it soon.

Blessings,
