Pasta Salad

Scripture to Live By:
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

Psalms 62:5-7

Recipe Post:
With the hot weather upon us what can be better than a fresh pasta salad.   This salad is filling and refreshing with the fresh fruit and vegetables.  I really like Italian dressing and Sweet and Sour Poppy Seed dressings so this recipe covers them both.

Here is what you will need:
1 pound of linguine broken into bite size pieces or spiral, bow tie, penne rigate pasta.
1 16 ounce bottle of Sweet and Sour  dressing ( I used light)
1 packet of Italian dressing
1 cucumber
1 quart of fresh strawberries (An additional quart of strawberries, if you are going to put some in the center like I did to serve. See below.)
1 orange or yellow pepper
1 package of honey roasted sunflower seeds (optional)

Cook  broken linguine pieces according to directions on package. Drain,
rinse with cold water. Drain thoroughly. Set aside.

Next, cut up pepper, cucumber and strawberries as seen below.

Add to pasta.

Mix the Italian packet to the Sweet and Sour Poppy Seed dressing.

Pour over the pasta and fruit and vegetables. Mix thoroughly

I put a glass in my serving bowl and filled it with strawberries as seen below.

I poured the salad in around it to serve.

You can add Honey Roasted Sunflower seeds in the salad or garnish with them.

This salad is decorative and tasty.

I love this time of the year when I can eat out on the patio and what could be better than a cool tasty  Pasta Salad.  Come join me!
