Italian Sausage Sandwiches with Caramelized Peppers and Onions

Scripture to Live By:
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins,
because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:76-79

Recipe Post:
Some days are just packed with things to do which call for a simple dinner. One that is quick to make yet one that the family will be pleased. The Italian Sausage Sandwich with Caramelized Peppers and Onions will be well pleasing for such days.  Here is what you will need and how I make mine and what I serve with them.  Hope this will be helpful for you in your busy schedule.

Needed Ingredients:

2 packages of Butterball Italian Sausages
3 peppers (Red, Orange and Yellow or Green)
2 to 3 Onions
1/2 stick of butter
2 Packages of Hoagie Buns
 Wash peppers.

Slice all three in strips.

Slice onions.

Heat electric skillet. When hot put 1/2 stick of butter sliced in the pan and melt.

Add onion and cook for a couple of minutes.

Add peppers to onions and saute until tender.

Continue to saute until peppers and onions are caramelized.

While peppers are cooking, heat grill and place sausages on the grill.

Cook 10 to 12 minutes on each side.  Make sure the sausage is cooked thoroughly.

Remove from grill and put on a clean plate.

Put sausage on Hoagie Bun.  Top with caramelized Peppers and Onions, Ketchup and Mustard.

Serve with Calico Beans and Potato Salad.

It is wonderful to serve with a plate of fresh fruit.  The blueberries are from my very own bushes.

A real treat for these hot summer day.

Wish you could join me.
