Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Helpful Hints:
Do you remember that we have been trying to get our house in order from our move for several months? Well, we have been working in the garage for quite sometime. We are trying to turn it into a game room. Before we can work on the room itself we have to remove the things we were storing there.
We had some 13 boxes of books in the garage. I didn't want to put these books back in the book shelves with out having caster on the bookshelves. I wanted to be able to move the book shelves, if I desired to, with out taking all the books out first. I enjoy rearranging furniture. With book shelves you usually have to remove the books first, then move the shelf and then replace the books. That's a lot of extra work. Well, I am tired of doing that, so I ask my husband if he could put casters on my book shelves before I put my books in them. He said he could do that with out a great amount of work. I had three book shelves that needed wheels on them. He put casters on each of them.
Here is what he did: He measured the bottom of the cabinet and cut a board to fit it.
He turned the cabinet on end where he needed to attach the board to so he could mount the casters.
He screwed the board to the bottom of the bookshelf.
I then touched up the board edges, as well as the cabinet with stain so the new board would match the rest of the cabinet.
We had some sturdy casters that my husband had purchased from a flea market and others he purchased at Home Depot.
He attached these to the cabinet.
After all four casters were attached securely, he turned the bookshelf upright again and put the shelves back in place.
Now I could start emptying these boxes of books for what is hopefully the last time.
I am so thankful to have my books back in order. After my husband put wheels on all three book shelves, he also put them on a video cabinet for me. I so appreciate it.
It is so nice being able to move my books shelves with the books in them.

ReplyDeleteMargo, he is shirtless most of the time. I took two pictures off that showed more. I am encouraging him to wear his shirt. I told him what you said so perhaps he will do better. Thank you for your comment.

DeleteI so would love to have casters on my bookshelves! Thank you for showing how the both of you accomplished this!
ReplyDeleteI hope to do this when the little one is a bit older, for now they have to be anchored so there wouldn't be much point in the casters now (as it would still be a ton of work to re-anchor them all- sigh).
XO
I would love casters on everything. Great on your pieces. Thanks for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteYou got a number of books in here, they should have a beautiful place to stay in. Good idea for putting caster on your shelf, I actually put casters on every cabinet we have in the house, except for those wall-mounted, of course.
ReplyDeleteI think your article is very nice. I will recommend it to my friends.
