Hello Dollies

Recipe Post:
Every time see this recipe, I think of my mother-in-law, Dolly, who is now with the Lord.
I saw this recipe in a cook book, The Best 1001 Short, Easy Recipes. I have adapted it taste. It has all the ingredients that I enjoy.  It is rich, chewy and tasty.  I enjoy desserts with lots of nuts and this has them.

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or crush one package of graham crackers)
1/4 cup melted butter
1/8 cup powered sugar
1 (6 ounce) bag of chocolate chips
1 cup coconut
1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
9 x 9 oven safe dish

(I make graham cracker crumbs from 1 package of graham crackers.) 
Put crackers in a heavy duty zip lock bag.  
Use rolling pin to crush the crackers into crumbs.  

One package of graham crackers makes  1 1/2 cups of crumbs

Add 1/4 cup of melted butter and 1/8 cup of powered sugar to the graham crackers
and press into the dish.

Layer the following:

Chocolate chips


Chop 1 cup of  pecans.

Put them on top of the coconut.

Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk on top of the nuts.

Spread evenly.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool completely. 

Cut into squares.

 I think you will like these bars.  They are soft and chewy, rich and tasty. I keep going back for more.
